Overview of this trip: 675 miles (1000+km) over six days
Of my five cycling trips across the US of A, this one will be the longest, and I have never done three consecutive 120+ mile days, or travelled through four states.
Plus I just discovered that this trip, being in November, has the shortest days of sunlight and all days will have a headwind from the east i.e. I will be pedalling into the wind the entire trip while trying to get to my daily destination before sunset.
I can hardly wait :)
Getting to New Orleans
Toronto Pearson at 5AM:

Transfer at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport:

and back to New Orleans and the Mississippi:

The St Charles Trolley:

Creole Gardens Courtyard, with palm tree leaves badly frayed from past hurricanes:

A final thought before climbing onto the bike:
This trip needs a different feel to it. On Stage Four (San Antonio-New Orleans) I felt discouraged and under-prepared due to training in a windless gym and not expecting somewhat unique high intensity winds blowing at me all day long. It really affected my mood.
I want to complete this last segment with a bang - really throw the glove down and dominate the ride.
